How you can become an excellent pianist? You would need both of outstanding technique and exuberant emotion. Unfortunately, very few people are talented. However, you don't need to give up any more even if you are not good at moving your fingers on the keyboard. Recently, computer technology has much evolved and you can leverage your ability to play the piano. This page is a history of my challenges to let my computer play the piano proficiently.
First, please listen to my computer's performance. Click here. This is 'Prelude no7 composed by Chopin'. Fortunately enough(?!), this is far from music to listen to. If computer alone can play the piano impressively, human will have no role to play. Although this is much less enjoyable sequence of noise, you will still notice that each of piano note is in high quality and the performance itself is very accurate.
Then, please listen to the following performance. Click here. I have added my emotion to the above sequence. I hope you feel even better than before. In this way, you can collaborate with computer to play the piano, technique by computer and emotion by human. Once directed, computer can repeat playing any difficult passages without mistake. If you have a computer with a good performance, you can create your own performance, of course. Please let me listen to yours too!
